AYSO United Arizona

Alumni Watch

AYSO United Arizona is proud to showcase our former players, who through the support of our coaches and organization, have managed to advance their careers beyond youth soccer. Whether playing collegiate soccer, or going straight into the professional or semi-professional ranks, these players got their start through AYSO and AYSO United in Arizona.

We hope to utilize this page to not only show which of our players are playing next level soccer, but to also provide updates on which players took advantage of their opportunities to grow individually and academically as well.

Being a part of a national organization with amazing programs like ID64, the new national USYS Elite 64 programs, plus participation in college showcases, which help players to get noticed by college coaches from around the country.

No club program can promise a college scholarship at the end of their youth soccer career. Academics, attitude, work ethic and sometimes just plain luck, all contribute to the possibility of playing next level soccer.

What we can promise you is a dedicated coaching and support staff which will do their very best to help your young athlete achieve their highest potential, without denying them their love for the game.

Brook Waters - 2003 Girls Salaiz

She is packing her bags for Tennessee!!
Congratulations to our very own Brooke Waters, who recently signed to play soccer for Motlow State, in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Brooke was a varsity center back for two time state champions, Casteel High School. She has also been playing for the AYSO United 2003 AZ Girls team since her Freshman year. "Brooke's positive attitude, fierce mentality and her love for the game has made her a leader on and off the pitch. Throughout her four years with our program, she has adopted the AYSO United philosophies and core values, which sets her apart from her peers. Brooke's best attribute is her willingness to be coached. She is the definition of what AYSO United represents." AYSO United Coach Daniel Salaiz.

On behalf of AYSO United Arizona, we want to let you know how grateful we are you chose us to help you on your soccer journey and to let you know what an inspiration you are to all of the players within our club.
Brooke now joins the growing list of AYSO United alumni who have gone on to play collegiate soccer.

Mia Blair - 2002 Blair Flagstaff

AYSO United AZ Star and Northland Prep Academy Graduate Signs with Wheaton College.
If you follow AYSO United on Facebook, you undoubtedly have heard of Mia Blair, from the 2002 AYSO United AZ Girls team in Flagstaff. Under the direction of her coach and father, Michael Blair, the girls from up north have had an amazing run of victories against top talent all over Arizona and in neighboring states. Upon graduating from Northland Prep Academy, Mia became the first female player in school's history to sign with a university to play soccer.

While at Northland Prep Academy, Mia helped lead the school to four consecutive 2A conference state championships, was named conference "Player of the Year" in two of her four seasons and led the US with 37 assist in 2019. Please see attached article.

"Growing up playing AYSO, I had a team and club environment that was very family oriented which truly helped develop me as a player. It allowed me the freedom to make mistakes and improve from them. I was supported through my mistakes, through my injuries, and through my successes. Tearing my ACL my freshman year, the Lord grew me in my faith and my teammates helped me through that to become an even stronger player. Playing AYSO allowed me to develop my own dedication to soccer and strengthened my individual work ethic which helped me return to sport after my injury. I started playing in AYSO rec, then Region 257 Extra, then AYSO Challenge and then AYSO United where I finished my youth playing career with 3rd place in State Cup. It’s amazing what my team from the small town of Flagstaff accomplished by staying together over the years and playing for each other." Mia Blair.

On behalf of AYSO United Arizona, we would like to thank Mia for choosing us to be her club and wish her the greatest success at Wheaton College. You are a role model for many young up and coming AYSO United players.
